Queen Quilt Size Guide

A queen quilt is one of the most common bed-sized projects. Getting the size right matters for both comfort and fabric planning.

Standard Queen Quilt Size

The standard queen quilt size is 90 inches by 108 inches. This provides full coverage on a 60" × 80" queen mattress with a generous drop on three sides.

Queen Quilt Backing

With 108-inch wide backing fabric, a queen quilt typically needs about 3.25 yards. With 44-inch fabric, you will piece multiple panels and need roughly 7.5 to 8 yards.

Batting and Binding

Batting should measure about 98" × 116" to allow for overage. Binding requires roughly 410 inches of total length, or about 10 WOF strips at 2.5 inches wide.
